Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has signed a significant piece of legislation sponsored by the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). The bill, which was vetoed by the previous governor last year, marks a notable shift in the state's approach to law enforcement support.

At its Biennial Conference, the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police recognizes a Member of the Year and an Officer of the Year. Each Local Lodge or a member can submit candidates for both awards.

Baton Rouge, LA — In a significant ceremony held yesterday at the Louisiana State Capitol, Governor Jeff Landry signed a proclamation designating this week as Police Week, underscoring the state's commitment to honoring and supporting its law enforcement officers.

In a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of its law enforcement officers, both Houses of the Legislature will read resolutions in honor of the officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year at the Louisiana State Capitol this coming Monday. We ask that attendees be at the Capitol at 1PM for the reading after convening.
